Qualifying times for the 2020 @eastern_zone Short Course Age Group Championship (EZ2020Y) are posted! This is the first age group championship in the @eastern_zone to limit attendance to 14/Unders.
Last year’s meet (EZ2019Y) favored boys at the expense of girls, and older athletes at the expense of younger ones. A 13-14 was expected to qualify for 1.6 times as many events as a 10/Under and an 11-12 boy for 1.6 times as many events as an 11-12 girl.

Overall EZ2020Y is more fair to 14/Unders than EZ2019Y but less fair than EZ2018Y. A 14/under boy is expected to qualify for 1.16 times as many events as a girl in EZ2020Y, versus 1.21x in EZ2019Y and 1.12x in EZ2018Y.

The easiest 10/Under event in EZ2020Y is the 100 breaststroke, for both boys and girls. The most difficult is the 100 IM; previously it was the 50 breaststroke.
